7 Rules of Computing

If You Think It Should Be There - It Usually Is

This means, that if you think that your computer should perform some particular function, it usually is able to. You just need to look hard enough and in the right places to find it.

If All Else Fails - Reboot

When you are having problems with your computer, 90% of problems can be fixed by a reboot of the computer.

Practice Patience

Although computers can go at a million miles an hour, it still takes time to perform some functions. You need to give the computer time to carry out these functions before you start hitting other buttons.

Read the Instructions

We've all heard of the popular saying "If all else fails, read the instructions", but if you are having problems with your computer, it may help to take a moment and read exactly what the computer is telling you. And when tere is an error message, take notes - it does help when solving the problem.

Don't Be Afraid to Try Things

Most learning takes place when we try new things. If you don't try, you'll never know.

Use the Help Menus

Help menus within the software program are becoming better and better, allowing you to find solutions in no time at all. Try using the search function to go to the exact section to find out what you need.
